Being a sort of social media junkie, I am ever reading stories and posts online, especially facebook posts of blogs.
This morning, I stumbled on a link telling a story about a lady who worked herself to death. You’re wondering how that is possible innit? Well it is. That’s not the point of this post tho.
Ever heard when they say someone has passed through school but school doesn’t pass through them? If you haven’t, you just did. Back to business, the above statement applies to the way some of us live our lives. We have so much planned our lives around the things we want to achieve that we don’t even make room for unexpected contingencies. Some of us are concerned about just making plans and fulfilling goals that we forget to really enjoy ourselves in the process. This is somewhat akin to obsession.
We are so much obssessed with getting, power, money, fame and the rest(you know what I mean), that we would do anything to get them with little or no regards for anyone or anything. I’m sorry to tell you this, it’s very unhealthy because we end up neglecting the little things that life has to offer (the love of family, the bonds of friendships, the laughter and guileless nature of a child and so on), because in the end it is not about the amount of wealth amassed or the fame or the power it is about fulfillment and a happy life well lived with a good balance. In the end, all these do no matter because life is vanity.
